5. Maternity Consultants are self-employed for Tax and National Insurance purposes. All consultancy fees should be paid directly to the Maternity Consultant. The agency charges a one-off fee for the introduction of a Maternity Consultant - who provides a consultancy service only. If full maternity duties are undertaken then the weekly Maternity Nurse placement fee will be applicable.

6. Once an engagement has been offered the client agrees to notify the Agency immediately. The client is liable to pay the Maternity Nurse from the date that she is booked, as confirmed with the Agency. The Maternity Nurse may ask for a deposit of one week's wage, which will be non-refundable if the Client cancels the booking due to unforeseen circumstances.

7. Conditions of employment are agreed between the employer and employee. These should be confirmed in writing between the two parties once employment has been offered. The Agency is happy to offer advice.

8. Fees are for one engagement only and the client agrees to inform the Agency should the applicant be re-engaged (under any circumstances) and the appropriate Agency fee will be payable. The client agrees to inform the Agency should the length of a booking/employment be extended beyond the original agreement and to pay the appropriate fee. If the Client wishes to offer permanent employment during the booking, or within twelve months of the booking, a permanent fee will be payable.
